WEEK 18 - 05.02.2018
SUPERVISORY TUTORIAL
After my first Supervisory Tutorial with Ewan I realised how overly complicated my idea was. I need to refine my project outline to make my project more understandable. People don't really understand and I also have trouble to explain my ideas. So, this week I'll be working on a clear narrative and outline to refocus my project idea on what matters the most.
BRANDING PHASE
My project is going on quite well, I have refined my outline and I am more confident about the whole project now.
I have been working on my prototypes a lot and it is now time for the branding phase because if I wait any longer to do it, it might be a problem for my coding (I would have to do a lot of pages all over again).
I started by looking at some sports apps as inspiration. Most of them have dark tones and gradient, so I am going to incorporate that in my design. I want people to look at my app and know straight away that it is a sports related app even without saying it.
I chose the fonts Montserrat bold (mostly for headings) and Roboto Condensed Regular (texts and buttons). The colors are mostly grey, orange and pink with a touch of bright blue.
I also finally decided on a name for my app: Collect. I wanted a name that reflected both the COLLECTive and COLLECTion part of my app.
With this new branding I coded the whole part of my app at the begining: the login, menu and team creation (the pages before the collecting data part).
Then I connected this prototype with my old one. I still need to change the style of that one to match my new branding.
